  1. What happened to the concept of hotels. A large hotel could be built on the outskirts of town to accommodate visitors. That would create more jobs. Residential housing could go back to what it was intended for -full time residents. Then, hopefully the inflated rental rates and cost of purchasing a home may even out.

    1. What happened to hotels?

One – you can’t have wild parties in a hotel and piss off your neighbors, like you can with an STR.

Two – where at a hotel do you park the boat and all the cars of your friends who have come to visit you at the beach, when you can park them on the street or some neighbors driveway or lawn at an STR?

Three – you can’t go careening around in a golf cart at a hotel.

    1. Nantucket town council has as much said they won’t appeal the decision and they will just simply instead amend their zoning to allow them.

That lady may have won her zoning battle in court but she’s going to lose the war.

This wasn’t a ruling against STR’s. This wasn’t a landmark decision. This was a judge saying your zoning dosen’t mean what you think it means. Now Nantucket will change the zoning to spell it out specifically.

      1. That’s exactly what the Cape Charles Town Council is planning to do here.

Vote them out before it is too late!
