You may recognize Brian and Jennifer from the Chestertown or Anne Arundel County farmers markets – where they sell regeneratively grown produce and GMO-free pastured eggs and poultry; from their many press mentions doing work with their team of weed-eating goats; or from Future Harvest’s very own Beginner Farmer Training Program. Brian completed the program in 2015.
Join us on Tuesday 4/25, 10:00 am – 2:00 pm at Where Pigs Fly Farm in Centreville, Maryland, for an in-depth look at the inner mechanics of running a broiler chicken operation (among several other enterprises) and how to institute a robust soil health management plan within this diverse system. In the first portion of the workshop, we’ll learn how they raise, process, market, and sell meat birds, offering up tricks of the trade and insight on financials they’ve learned over the years.

During the second half of the workshop, we’ll be joined by Lisa Garfield, Million Acre Challenge Director, to walk you through Brian and Jennifer’s newly developed soil health management plan. Over the past few months, Where Pigs Fly Farm has been working with Lisa to create and trial a holistic soil health management plan for their farm operation. This workshop will be the debut of this newly minted plan! $10/members, $20/non-members, FREE for BFTP. REGISTER HERE.
