The Cape Charles Mirror was accepted this week as a member of the Local Independent Online News Publishers (LION).
The mission of LION is to foster the viability and excellence of locally focused independent online news organizations and cultivate their connections to their communities through education and action.
At the Mirror, we are excited to be joining this organization. We share a passion for local journalism and a determination to focus our energies on the health of our online publications as businesses, whether for-profit or nonprofit. As print continues to fade, LION members continue to approach daily tasks with an entrepreneurial spirit and a belief that individually and collectively we are setting the pace for a new era of local news publishing.
“We are dedicated to championing the local online news industry, in the firm belief that independent publishers are establishing the template for successful local digital news organizations – just as independent publishers did for print newspapers in the 19th century” — LION
Yep, I knew it all along. You are the only worthwhile newspaper on the Lower Eastern Shore. Keep plugging away and tell us how to support you.
Congratulations Wayne!
Congratulations! It’s obvious that you put a tremendous amount of work into preparing this publication every week. It far surpasses the local print media.
I find The Mirror to be very informative. Sometimes I don’t agree with it but that’s what it’s all about. I highly recommend The Mirror.
That’s GREAT, Wayne!
Congratulations! Keep digging away, Wayne. Keeps folks on their toes! Good job. Chas
Great news! I consume the Mirror every Sunday with a vengeance and, even though I many times don’t agree, it stimulates my thoughts and perspective. And keeps me informed of the local happenings. Keep up the good work, Wayne!
Add my best wishes and congratulations to those of above.
The Cape Charles Mirror is a top-notch publication in my estimation.
