VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Today, Missy Cotter Smasal – a Navy veteran, former small business owner, and mom – released the following statement after Jen Kiggans voted to install Mike Johnson, an anti-abortion extremist, to be the highest-ranking House Republican.
“Once again, Jen Kiggans caved to her extreme colleagues and elected Mike Johnson to be the next Speaker of the House. For three weeks, Kiggans has refused to find a bipartisan path forward to end the chaos and get our government working – and Virginians have paid the price.
“By voting for Johnson, Kiggans has endorsed his dangerous agenda that seeks to abandon Virginia’s veterans, bans abortion nationwide, criminalizes doctors for providing reproductive care, propagates conspiracy theories about the 2020 election, and cuts Social Security and privatizes Medicare. She cannot be trusted to represent Coastal Virginian values.”
BACKGROUND
Missy Cotter Smasal served as a Surface Warfare Officer in the U.S. Navy and deployed aboard the U.S.S. Trenton during Operation Enduring Freedom. After her active duty service, Missy started a small business in Virginia Beach, Rita’s Shore Drive, which she owned and operated for more than 10 years.
Missy currently serves as the Virginia Citizen Representative on the Chesapeake Bay Commission, a bipartisan commission that has achieved consistently strong and effective results in pursuit of Bay restoration goals.
Missy is running for Congress to fight for coastal Virginians, military families, and veterans. She will stand up for our local values and priorities, and push back against extreme politicians in DC.

How about we reserve words like extremist for actual extremists rather than main stream politicians who happen to hold opposing views, m’Kay?
You know, like Hamas.
Speaking of which, it would be interesting to hear Ms. Smasal’s views on the depraved savages known as Hamas.

She apparently does not understand that abortion rights are not just a casual approach to birth control. The Supreme Court made it possible for each state to adopt its own laws not federal laws . No state has banned abortion in its entirety. Stop pushing BS agendas provide logistical solutions instead .

Thou Shall Not Kill is pretty simple. How can you have half our population with a licence to kill babies at will or at least as many as they can conceive. Then they use excuses like incest or rape, both of which, a doctor will assist. Nothing more evil than a woman that would kill her own offspring or defend their desire to do so.
