image go directly back into the Cape Charles Main Street for use in revitalization efforts that benefit all who live, work, own businesses or visit our town.
The LOVE sign has become an integral part of our community and a sightseeing destination for visitors in search of a unique photo that
captures the spirit of Cape Charles.
Our LOVE sign has been the social media star in countless family beach vacation shots, bridal party shots, candid selfies, etc. – it’s our collective
responsibility to generate the funds needed to ensure that it continues to serve as a destination landmark for residents and visitors.
“After taking ownership of the sign and its design, we felt it essential that we preserve not only the physical structure but also the marketing potential to benefit the whole of Cape Charles and not any one individual stated Karen Zamorski, Program Director for CCMS.
Without this protection this design could be used by anyone, anywhere to produce and sell products bearing its likeness for personal profit both within and outside of Cape Charles which didn’t seem right” she continued. The trademarking of the sign does NOT prevent anyone from taking photo’s for personal use. The distinction is utilizing the design and/or image for personal profit and is strictly prohibited.

Wouldn’t that have been a nice money maker for the town? How did Main Street obtain rights?
