Well Mr. Bennett, there are currently businesses in Northampton County, that rely on clean water in our creeks and Bay, like our aquaculture farms.Their children would like to carry those businesses on as well. There are those who have been here for generations who wish to remain on family land, but will not be able to do so at the current rate of property tax increases. What about those citizens, Mr. Bennet? No one is insinuating farmers shouldn’t farm. Northampton County is simply not geographically, environmentally or hydrologically suited for intensive animal husbandry operations. Not everything can be grown everywhere.
