4 thoughts on “Planning Commission: Pours way for Brewpubs in Cape Charles

  1. A biergarten within walking distance?! How quickly can you open for business? A Cape Charles wheat beer and 2 bratwurste and sauerkraut please! Because life’s too short to drink water. Unless you’re a fish.

  2. One brew pub sounds great! Two brew pubs may sound even better. Three brew pubs makes for the beginning of a pub-crawl. My son has lived in Asheville NC for close to ten years now, and the proliferation of brew pubs there has grown to more than forty. He is not a tea-totaller by any means, yet he complains about a big increase in drunks around his part of town and thinks that the number of brew pubs may have something to do with it. Should we be concerned about the number of establishments that brew their beers mainly for retail sale but allow on-premises consumption? Would more than one of these establishments create a beer tasting trail through our little town? This is how our planners need to look at the big picture.

  3. My worry would be champagne. We should not allow bubbly producers free reign in town because it would produce mass inebriation. Beer, on the other hand, is food. We can sample it at Kelly’s and at the brew pubs and have a Bud in between. The end result would be healthy nourishment.
