Melfa, Virginia – For immediate release. The Eastern Shore Resource Conservation and Development Council has teamed up with Future Harvest CASA to present an on-farm program for small farmers who are interested to learn more about accessing wholesale markets from a remote rural area.

Join the Future Harvest staff and the Eastern Shore RC&D at Turtle Pace Farm in Melfa on the Eastern Shore of Virginia to learn the ins and outs of selling farm products on the wholesale market from experts in the field. The Panel Discussion will include representatives from Chesapeake Harvest Food Hub, Coastal Sunbelt Produce, Buy Fresh Buy Local and others. Farmers will have a chance to ask questions and also share their experiences selling to larger markets.

Our Host Farmers: Doris and Paul Gebel, Turtle Pace Farm. The vision for the farm operation began in 1992 when Paul and Doris purchased twenty acres of land with the intention of creating a small, sustainable farm and homestead for the family. Since then, equipment has been acquired, barns have been built and a home-base for operations has been prepared. Turtle Pace Farm began full-time operation for vegetable and fruit farming in 2016
