At Thursday’s Regular Town Council Meeting, Lance Marine presented a comprehensive overview of the proposed Bay Crossing Workforce Housing project. The presentation included the layout and details
of the conceptual site plan. Currently, the types of units proposed includes:
S1 = Micro/Studio – size of approximately 360 sq. ft
S2 – Micro Studio – size of approximately 365 sq. ft.
A1 = 1 bedroom/1 Bath Unit of approximately 520 sq. ft.
B1 = 2 bedroom/2 bath unit of approximately 700 sq. ft.
B2 = 2 bedroom/2 bath unit of approximately 702 sq. ft.
Bay Crossing will be a Planned Unit Development (PUD) that intends to provide for low-to-moderate density residential development for the local workforce in the Town of Cape Charles and Northampton County.
The targeted income range is 80% to 150% of the Area Median Income ($55,104 for Cape Charles) and no greater than 30% of income to be spent for housing costs (rent and utilities).
Future plans also include commercial development which the Town Council and Planning Commission will control/approve via the existing Conditional Use Permit process. New Commercial developement will not be ‘by right’.

Dress it up with fancy names, paint pretty pics. But this is the new housing for the illegal immigrants. Congratulations to the town council and every Dick and Harry that approves this has solved the workforce shortage for Cape Charles. Bravo 👏
Welcome to the caste system!
