CAPE CHARLES, Va. — Cape Charles Main Street has rolled out a new social media initiative aimed at boosting tourism during the slower months.
The “Weekend Getaway” campaign, developed with marketing firm Misty Saves the Day, launched Aug. 21 and builds on Cape Charles’ recognition as “Best Weekend Getaway” by readers of Coastal Virginia magazine.
Organizers say the campaign is designed to reach out-of-town audiences and encourage overnight stays in Cape Charles, particularly during the shoulder season when visitor traffic typically slows.
Cape Charles Main Street has used a mix of online engagement and local partnerships in the past to strengthen the town’s visibility as a coastal destination. Leaders say this new effort highlights the town’s award-winning appeal while supporting businesses that depend on year-round tourism.
