Worried about water on the Eastern Shore?
Want to take action now?
Come to the Mighty Earth #CleanItUpTyson Rally!
March 22nd is International World Water Day.
Communities across the world that are facing water scarcity, water shortages, or water pollution will be holding events to raise awareness and advocate for Clean Water for All.
It’s time to Celebrate World Water Day here on the Eastern Shore, where we rely on a single-source aquifer and our historic aquaculture industry depends on clean water to thrive.
Let’s Call on Tyson Foods to Protect Our Drinking Water!
With the industry build-out of over 270 new chicken houses, we are concerned about excess pollutants getting into our waterways and wells. We know that ammonia deposits and excess phosphorus runoff cause algal blooms and dead zones. In the face of environmental and public health impacts, it is irresponsible for America’s largest meat producer to not take action.
At this Rally, we will Call on Tyson to adopt stronger water stewardship policies. We will voice our concerns about the public health risks of water contamination, and show that Eastern Shore residents want the company to take the lead on sustainability – and not let our fragile ecosystem be destroyed.
Join us for the World Water Day Rally! Let your voice be heard!
