June 2, 2016, Cape Charles, VA – The Cape Charles Rotary Club does not make that claim lightly because it has incorporated feedback from hundreds of customers in its improved product. Eastern Shore connoisseurs never questioned either the taste or quality of the Rotary Club’s 100% crab meat, no filler, crab cakes. However, a few of the members most loyal customers had questioned the uniformity of the crab cake’s size.
Each crab cake is handmade. This fact is fundamental to the popularity of the Rotary crab cakes, but was somewhat problematic until #8 ice cream scoops were added to the production process. This adoption, coupled with the introduction of a Panko bread crumb coating that replaced unexciting cracker meal, was the answer. Demand for Rotary crab cakes has since increased dramatically over the last two years.
