Cape Charles, VA — The Town of Cape Charles has announced the release of Officer Garrett from the police force, according to a statement from Town Manager Hozey to the Cape Charles Mirror.

The decision comes amidst heightened scrutiny of law enforcement practices nationwide, although it remains unclear if Officer Garrett’s departure is related to any specific incident or investigation.

But I will say that we have not had any accusations of excessive force on any officer, nor has there been any new lawsuit filed.“
